金刚杵为佛教诸神所持之法器，具有“摧毁敌者”的意义，多见独股、三股、五股、九股。此杵即为五股，五股表五智五佛，其中一股象征佛之实智，其余四股则为四佛权智之标帜。此杵四个弯曲股叉，吐自摩羯之口，线条表现力度十足；中部杵身束以两绳，代表“定、慧”二法，上下再饰八瓣莲花承托圆珠，莲瓣挺秀。金刚杵整体鎏金，以细密的连珠纹将各个部分区分开来，做工精细，整器给人以敦实之感，据其气韵、工艺判断，有着明代宫廷御制法器的艺术风韵，应是出自于内地雕塑大师之手。
