褚德彝題詩堂
楊峴、李瑞清跋裱邊

詩堂：
新羅山人畫，少時刻意，摹仿宋人，幾於奪胎亂真；中年以後，去其刻畫之跡，遊心於宋元法度之中，而不為宋元法度所縛，誠一代王手也。此幀畫境奇創，而用筆設色，足以副之。山谷之間，大烈具舉，濃煙猛炬，狐兔四竄，猿玃緣藤附葛，險不擇處。而山君方雄踞山罡，擬諷當時在上者，威福自深，苛政火熱；在下者，遂鋌而走險耳，非無意漫畫也。歲次屠維大荒落（1929）六月，松窓題。

款識：
暗壁忽然開，鳥聲谷中亂。乾風吹野燒，群動突煙竄。新羅山人寫。

裱邊題跋：
（一）雲壺外史讀此畫，追憶庚辛間事，☐☐，近來倭奴逞頑，闖入北畿，不知視庚辛何如。☐☐☐龍不作雨，不能滅此野燒。因雲壺☐，搏膺三嘆。乙未（1895）春二月，藐弟楊峴題。
（二）新羅山人真跡，予生平所見五本耳。花鳥蘊藉而逸，人物閒雅。以都若此幅，則奇情譎思，不可方物矣。當令清湘老人見而驚詑，昔邪居士見而失色。蓋二公筆墨曏稱奇譎，而奇譎匹未☐。坡走樹飛，火光熊熊，如聞鳥獸聲，亂從紙端出也。宣統二年（1910）冬日，李瑞清。
