A bronze Grand Tour statuette of a male (Talos?) wearing a crested cap, belt and loincloth, advancing on a discoid base; the left arm with bent elbow and hand extended to the front, the right arm folded to support a spherical cobble or weight in the hand; mounted on a custom-made stand. 862 grams, 26cm (10"). Property of a South African lady; formerly in the private collection of Dr. Frederick Lorch, Swiss geologist and author on Egyptian antiquities, and managing direction of S.A. Minerals Corporation; acquired from the early 1960s to the early 1980s; thence by descent to the current owner; accompanied by a original 1963; accompanied by a copy of a typed insurance valuation dated 1969 (item B.1").
