|八音盒为木制长方形，下承四角方足。打开盒盖，内贴一纸乐谱。盒中间玻璃盖下置一组发声器，发声器顶端均设金边莲花瓣捉手，器上附着立体描金蝴蝶，蝴蝶身躯刻画精细，翅膀上扬，栩栩如生，似短暂驻足，即刻便要飞走一样。手摇柄设在玻璃箱左侧。边听音乐边隔着玻璃欣赏能工巧匠打制的三只形态各异的蝴蝶，不失为一件美事。木质盒体因历经岁月留下包浆与磨痕，却毫不影响精巧细致的八音盒带给人们的美感，委实难得。
