CHAKRASAMVARA Bronze Tibet or Nepal 16th century Dimensions: Height 9 cm ; Wide 7 cm ; Depth 4 cm Weight: 816 grams Translated as "wheel of bliss", four-headed Chakrasamvara is embracing his yogini consort Vajravarahi in yab-yum standing in alidhasana pose attached to a rectangular plinth, trampling on a crouching body with one foot. He is a deity of meditation and protection, called yidam in Tibetan Buddhism. In ten hands he is holding symbolic attributes of a yidam while embracing his consort with two arms and holding the vajra and ghanta. Both are wearing jewellery and patterned garments.
