Finest, Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Gilt bronze cloisonne hundred deer Zun vase. The Gilt bronze potted in a Zun shaped vase, thick, globular body, slightly ovoid body, rounded shoulder concealing gracefully to a prominent straight neck, two deer head handles emerging and flanked on the neck, raised with short splayed foot base rim. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in cloisonne technique. The cloisonne technique was mostly used for jeweler and small fittings for clothes, weapons or similar small objects decorated with geometric or schematic designs, with thick cloisonne walls. 14th Century this enamel technique had spread to China, where it was soon used for much larger vessels such as bowls and vases. In much Chinese cloisonne blue is usually the predominant color, and the Chinese name for the technique, jingtailan ("Jingtai blue ware"), refers to this, and the Jingtai Emperor. Chinese cloisonne is amongst the best known enamel cloisonne in the world. The deer symbolizes immortality and is the companion of Shoulao, the God of Longevity, while the inclusion of peaches and Lingzhi fungus in the decoration is often a further symbolic of longevity.
