洋桶壶为紫砂光货素器类经典传统作品之一，近现代多位大师、著名艺人都制作过洋桶壶。此件洋桶壶，圆形身筒，规整匀称，端庄大方，并在传统造型上稍作变化，壶肩变为凹肩线，盖为母子双线相吻合，颈与肩有精细的节奏变化。壶身一面铭刻竹叶枝枝，另一面则铭刻诗文以饰，通过书款来看应为当时定制之物。整器制作气度非凡，壶嘴修长，二弯流呈抛物线上扬。俯视牛盖，可见线条韵律丰富，在不动声色间凸显风华。
