辟邪是傳說中的一種神獸，型似獅子，背帶翅膀。漢人深深相信神獸有超自然力量，可以驅邪保身。此獸玉料為青白色，玉質細密厚 重，手感滑潤，局部受沁，沁色斑斕。臉型扁方，曲頸抬首怒吼，頂上有角，闊眉大眼，開口露齒，體態雄健。雙翅於兩肩往背部延伸， 向上卷渦，翅根在肩凸部位，四肢及翅膀均刻畫斜紋羽毛，四掌各有四爪，從底部可見掌中有一圈肉墊，為明顯漢代特徵。左前掌為翹， 後右爪後伸，方向不一，姿態靈動，一副躍躍欲動、蓄勢待發之姿。我們可見此獸與圖一及圖二中的博物館館藏雕件，不論在玉質或 雕工上都極為接近，足見此獸之珍稀罕見。參閱1. 漢 玉辟邪 , 長 13.2 公分 , 台北故宮博物院館藏。 2. 玉辟邪 , 長 13.2 公分 , 中國故宮博物院館藏。
