款识：简叔姚允在。钤印：简叔氏（朱文）允在私印（白文） 作者简介：姚允在，明代会稽（今浙江绍兴）人。善山水，学荆、关，笔墨遒劲，思致不凡。小幅愈佳，但自矜其画不多为人作。尝有人持多金至越购之者，竟不能得其一水一石。周亮工从友人处得其小册十二幅，皆自江南入北地，纪所见名胜。王士祯最爱其秦淮一帧。为一时名流推重。所画屋宇位置得宜，会心独远，与俗手之点缀屋宇，全无向背照应之法者迥然不同。人物亦精工秀丽，在能妙之间，摆脱浙习，另敞门庭。南宗名画苑载有其万历三十一年（一六〇三）作娇红弱柳图，故宫博物院藏有其崇祯十四年（一六四一）作山水扇。
