Der Leiter der "Abteilung Classic-History" Dr. Harry Niemann wollte den genialen Ingenieur Béla Barényi ehren, der jahrzehntelang für Mercedes-Benz arbeitete und wahre Wunder erfand. Er meldete für Mercedes-Benz mehr als 2.500 Patente an, u. A. erfand er auch die "Sicherheitszelle", also die Knautschzone für alle PKW's. Herr Barényi war der Entdecker der "passiven Sicherheit" und rettete demzufolge Tausenden von Menschen das Leben. Als er altersbedingt ausschied, wollte der Konzern ihm als Dank diesen großartigen Gold-Chronographen überreichen. In dieser Armbanduhr mit dem Kaliber 7751 sollte eine Gravur mit folgendem Text angebracht werden "Dr. Harry Niemann für Béla Barényi". Fälschlicherweise wurde allerdings "Béla Barényi für Dr. Harry Niemann" graviert. So kam es, dass von diesem Chronographen nunmehr 2 Stück weltweit existieren. Ersatzschließe anbei. The head of the department "Abteilung Classic-History" Dr. Harry Niemann wanted to pay hommage to the genious engineer Béla Barényi, who worked for Mercedes-Benz for decades and invented true miracles. He registered more than 2.500 patents for Mercedes-Benz, among others he invented the "Sicherheitszelle" (safety cell), also the crush-collapsible-zone for all motorcars. Mr Barényi discovered the "passiven Sicherheit" (passive security) thus saving thousands of lives. When he left work due to old age, the company wanted to award him this magnificent gold Chronograph in honour of his services. In this wrist watch with caliber 7751 the following text was to be engraved "Dr. Harry Niemann für Béla Barényi". A mistake was made and "Béla Barényi für Dr. Harry Niemann" was engraved. It is in this way, that now 2 Chronographs of this type exist worldwide. Replacement clasp enclosed.
