张祥河，嘉庆二十五年（1820）进士，官工部尚书。谥温和。尝客京师董相国诰邸，与袁少迂（沛）、周芸皋（凯）讲求六法。充大清会典绘图。仁宗六旬，进庚辰万纪图诗画册，称旨。写意花草宗徐渭、陈道复，山水私淑文征明。晚年又涉石涛（道济）一派。笔颇健举，然气韵魄力仍是书生本色。黄钺告归，以书万卷先行，祥河为写饯书图，钺称其得五峰（文伯仁）意。画梅亦工。咸丰十一年（1861），因病致仕。次年，卒于京邸，谥“温和”。其墓在横山南麓。
