§ Raymonde Guerbe (Pierre Le Faguays), (French 1892-1962), a rare Art Deco bronze figural lamp, in the form of a scantily clad half-kneeling nude, with hands held up in supplication, signed Guerbe, Max le Verrier Edition, the acid etched clear glass ovoid vase signed 'Daum Nancy France', raised on a polished stone plinth 37cm (14in) Other Notes: Guerbe and Fayral were two pseudonyms used by Pierre Le Faguays. Fayral and Guerbe were the family names for his mother and his wife. Le Faguays was born in Nantes, France and became famous for the originality he gave his dancers, many of which were inspired by the statues of Tanagra, the small Boeotian city east of Thebes in ancient Greece, well-known for its tiny clay figures, mostly of women. He gained a medal of honour for his work in 1927. He was a friend of Max Le Verrier and the Le Verrier foundry made most - if not all - of his pieces.
