Un décor appliqué de bandes imitant des cordes d'attaches permettant d'en déduire que cette forme en céramique serait le copie d'un prototype de verseuse originalement possiblement en cuir ou bois, le couvercle orné d'un décor incisé de pétales. Chaîne métalliques reliant le couvercle à la verseuse possiblement ajoutée postérieurement. Une verseuse similaire dans les collections du Musée de la Capitale à Pékin et prêtée au Metropolitan Museum de New-York à l'occasion de l'exposition "The world of Khubilai Khan, Chinese art in the Yuan dynasty" (voir image 1 et 2) Exposition présentée au MET de septembre 2010 à janvier 2011. La verseuse présentée à l'occasion de cette exposition aurait été retrouvée dans la tombe d'un moine Kashmiri dont le fils était un officiel Yuan au début du 14e siècle. A rare Qingbai ewer and cover."This intriguing object was found in the tomb of a Kashmiri monk whose son was an important Yuan official in the early fourteenth century. It may be one of the earliest examples of a type of vessel known later in both Tibet and Mongolia. The shape, in particular the struts along the sides and the high edge at the neck, suggests that it was copied from a prototype in another material, possibly leather or wood.
