A pair of late 19th century ormolu wall sconces, the oval backs with scroll projections and central acanthus modelled panels, each supporting a branch modelled as the torso of a winged lioness, its mouth upholding a floral garland with a further three curved and foliate detailed branches, each with nozzle above circular drip tray, (a/f), 14.25 (36cm) high. General scratches and wear. Knocks to backs, and unsteady on backs as a result.Several splits and breaks to backs, repairs visible. Branches with losses to original fixings, three examples with later replacement fixings. Branches, sockets and drip trays knocked. One socket and drip tray missing.
