绞胎瓷器是中国古代陶瓷装饰工艺中的特殊品种，唐时创烧，工艺复杂，制作难度大，由于高温下不同颜色的泥土收缩率不同，成品率较低。至宋时，绞胎工艺蓬勃发展，多地窑口均有烧造。本品或属河南芝田窑，据悉中低温色釉器为芝田窑之大宗产品，其中以单色釉中绿釉器物最为常见；拍品用两色胎土绞出花纹，外罩绿釉，如水墨氤氲，别具雅趣；整器造型挺拔，手柄处作系绳状，采用支烧工艺，工艺讲究，匠心独具，实属精品之作。参阅：《故宫博物院藏文物珍品大系－两宋瓷器》（上），上海科学技术出版社、商务印书馆（香港），2002年，页209，图189
