O: 38 1/2 x 32 in.Ferdinand Voet was the principal portrait painter in Rome during the third quarter of the 17th century and he was greatly sought after by Roman aristocratic families. He is known to have worked extensively for the Altieri, Chigi, Colonna, Mancini, Odescalchi, Piccolomini, Rocci and Rospigliosi. Though patronized mainly by Roman clients, there was a period when Voet executed a number of portraits for members of the court of Savoy in Piedmont.
