The well with the image of a boat. 4-character mark on the base; c) Rice bowl hand-painted in black and red, with a chop mark on the base. Large bowl hand-large stapled bowl with blue white and red. Dimensions are: largest, bowl with staple repair - 9 5/8 inches diameter X 3 7/8 inches tall. All measurements are approximate. Condition: b) With staple repair. Provenance: From the Slade family collection of Chinese ceramics and jade; assembled by three members of the family and by descent to the present owner. The collection was begun by Henry Adolphus Warre Slade (1869 - 1936), British businessman, member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (1908/09) and the Director of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation between 1900 and 1902. His brother, Marcus Warre Slade (1865–1941) was also barrister and King's Counsel in Hong Kong, another brother, Edmond Slade (1859–1928) was a Royal Navy Admiral in Hong Kong.
