此件大瓶所用玉材为典型的新疆和田碧玉玉料，与目前常见的产自俄罗斯的碧玉有所不同，其特点为玉料中间夹杂有颜色较浅的“青玉斑”和颜色翠绿的“铜锈斑”。此瓶整器秀美挺拔，碧玉质地滋润，色泽苍雅斑驳，盖顶雕琢蕉叶宝珠为钮，瓶身前后均以剔地浮雕法满雕缠枝花卉纹上下两组，虽见枝蔓层层缠绕却毫无凌乱繁缛之感，花瓣翻卷轻盈，枝蔓舒展自如，富具立体感。口沿及肩部饰以如意纹饰一周，规整秀美。两侧透雕洋菊一对为耳，玲珑别致。下承外撇圈足，厚重稳固。此件作品是中国玉石雕刻大师俞挺先生旧作，与现今展示其空飘细薄胎技法不同，本品器形厚重挺拔，构图瑰丽饱满，雕琢细致华美，且体量较大，由大块和田碧玉雕就，仅其玉料价值亦为珍罕，予人以雍容华贵之美感，值得藏家珍视之。款识：俞
