此大黑天坐像为一面、三目、四臂游戏坐姿伸右腿。头戴五叶宝冠圆瞪怒视浓眉阔鼻厚唇口衔一人耳垂大圆珰。项链、臂钏、手镯、脚镯均为细密的连珠纹。正右臂屈于胸前持金刚钺左手托嘎布拉碗右上臂手执宝剑（断）。左上臂弯曲向上手执小人。大黑天梵语音译为“马哈哥剌”、“摩诃葛剌”等在藏传佛教中是一位宫室、知识和财富的保护神。据说他被观音菩萨降伏故常被当作观音菩萨的忿怒化身。
