本器造型仿自西亚来通杯，为巩县窑三彩作品。此器施以黄绿白三色釉，釉色斑驳，交融灿烂。杯身为水鸭形，双翅拢身，杯腹外鼓，上以模印做羽纹及花藻纹样。尾形做花口，水鸭回首衔于花口之上，鸭嘴长直而挺，玲珑俏立。又鸭颈弯曲中空，以为把柄，饮时手拿此处，以花口饮之。大英博物馆藏两例水凫来通杯与本例相近，一例编号1972，0724.2，鸟身花口，与是例基本一致。另例编号1937，0716.34，则是圆口杯式。另外又见瑞士玫茵堂藏一例圆口者，著录于康蕊君《玫茵堂藏中国瓷器》，卷三上册，295页，1317号。又见纽约苏富比2017年9月13日一例大威德基金会旧藏的唐三彩龙首角杯以51.65万美元成交。
