Original 8.5 x 11 instructional sheet headed “RE.: BEATTLES’ ARRIVAL,” dated July 20, 1965, directed to Mike Hutner and Buddy Young in regard to the Beatles’ arrival in New York City on August 13, 1965, and the start of their second American tour. The sheet lists the band’s flight number (“TWA, Flight #703”), the airport, landing time, and receiving party (“Kennedy Airport at 2:35 P.M…Walter Hofer and representatives from Capitol Records and General Artists Corporation”), and the remainder of their obligations and plans, with additional contact information. In very good to fine condition, with a fold across the bottom, and creasing to the edges. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.The Beatles’ fifth studio album, Help!, was released in America on the same day the Beatles landed stateside for their highly anticipated 16-date US tour. Upon landing at JFK—their plane parked two miles from the main terminal to avoid fan frenzy—the Beatles were driven to the Warwick Hotel on 6th Avenue and 54th Street, their main residence until August 17th. The following day the group recorded their fourth and final performance for the Ed Sullivan Show, and a day later on August 15th delivered an historic performance before 55,600 at Shea Stadium.Format: Instructional Sheet
