Muromachi period (1333-1573), 16th centuryConstructed of 44 iron plates lacquered black and mounted with shinodare on the front and rear central plates, the koshi-maki and mabizashi edged with gilt-copper fukurin, the crown fitted with a five-stage gilt-metal, copper, and shakudo tehen kanamono, the kuwagata-dai pierce carved with chrysanthemums and fitted with gilt-copper kuwagata, the bowl fitted with a later five-stage shikoro lacquered black and laced in blue and orange ending in fukigaeshi decorated with gilt-metal manji heraldic crests and trimmed in gold lacquer
