A ceramic oil lamp with rounded nozzle, lug handle to the rear; the discus with head of Hercules (Greek Herakles) wearing a lion skin, band of raised dots around; maker's mark (?) to the base; maker's mark in base 'IN PLANTA PEDIS'. 48 grams, 84mm (3 1/4"). Property of a professional Austrian gentleman; part of his private collection since the 1990s. Very fine condition.
