Spectacular Chinese Ming Dynasty Longqing Blue and white Fangding porcelain censer. A rectangular body supported by stout legs resembling elephant-foot shape rounded with several blue rings and ears painted with scrolling motif in each top side of foot. The exterior delicately hand painted in White-blue glaze of snarling dragon careening through cumulus clouds. The rim banded with array of scrolling motif. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. The vase elegantly displayed upon a carved hardwood stand.Mark on base, a vertical six underglazed blue script -KaiShu- characters mark, enclosed within a double fine rectangular borders, LongQing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
