是书仅中央党校、上海图书馆、东北师范大学、新疆大学等六家公藏，存世稀少，2011年北京卓德首届拍卖会曾以32.2万元落槌。此书应为张凤翼自撰自刻，首有张凤翼万历十四年自序，为此书的最早版本，刷印精良，纸质莹润有韧性，墨色凝练，惜第十一卷为配本。张凤翼，字伯起，号灵虚，南直隶苏州府长洲人。与弟燕翼、献翼并有才名，时人号为“三张”。嘉靖四十三年（1564）举人。为人狂诞，擅作曲。著戏曲多篇，晚年尤好撰乐府新声，颇受人们喜爱。 《中国古籍善本总目》第1717页
