|玉璧是一种中央有穿孔的扁平状圆形玉器，为传统玉礼器，也是“六瑞”之一。本物规则圆形，造型规矩，具有鲜明的时代工艺特征。纹饰舒展流畅，刻工上乖；局部带沁，古意盎然。故从纹饰、刀工及沁色来考证，应为明代之物玉器以涡纹为纹饰，其起源可能是古人对水的崇拜。《老子》中，多处谈到与水相关词语，如「上善若水」，「水善利万物而不争」。表达水是生命的源泉、生活的一切都跟水有关系。又涡纹表面雕琢隐起弧形圆谷粒，似谷物发芽的样子，象征万物苏醒、生机勃勃之景象，更代表人们对农业丰收的盼望。本件涡纹璧线条流畅，打磨圆滑，纹饰排列有序，极具美感。
