Huang Yue (黃鉞; 1750-1841) Framed Chinese Qing Dynasty traditional painting, ink and color on paper, signed.Gongbi Painting of Burgeoning Peony upon silk, by Huang Yue (1750-1841). A single celestial vase is decorated with two flowing dragons encircling a central longevity emblem. A menagerie of floral blooms is encapsulated by an intricate wicker basket located just behind the vase. Thick gnarled stems shoot upward to support the sensuous buds and blooms. Highly realistic rendering in a still life composition makes this piece a timeless beauty. A single column of semi-cursive script calligraphy is noted on the left-hand side of the painting with various official red seals placed along the perimeter. This painting has been secured within a wooden frame, and set behind glass.
