签名：L. Mayer |德国||德国艺术家路易斯·迈耶是诗人卡尔·迈耶（Karl Mayer）的兄弟。少时在斯图加特艺术学院学画，师从古托洛布斯蒂科夫（Gottlob Steinkopf）。他在欧洲边走边画，纪录沿途美景，最终回到德国的斯图加特城。他的画作深受17世纪荷兰画派影响，他将海边的生活中的诗意性出色地表现了出来。这幅描绘待修缮的船只，画中笔触张弛有度，既有对船只房屋造型的精细刻画，也有对周边风景写意表达，构图浑然一体。
