A Chinese Qing Dynasty SanCai glazed YuHuChun porcelain pear vase. Substantial rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a short neck, with a slightly concave foot base. The exterior is delicately decorated with hand painted five-claws dragon amidst sparse cloud formations in a traditional SanCai glaze coloration. Dragons represent the Emperor and imperial household. Dragon Long is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fertility. The underside foot rim left unglazed, with pale-creme base spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The receded base left white underglaze. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Mark on base, a vertical six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed by double fine blue rings, YongZheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
