本件藏品原为罗马天主教皇庇护十二世（Pope Pius XII）旧藏，1939年做为圣诞礼物赠送其女儿，扉页附其亲笔跋文。是书内收录整页雕凹线铜版画847幅，净重接近100斤。其中双页对开或折叠插页图版近百余幅，气势恢宏的展示出米开朗基罗和拉斐尔等巨型壁画作品。内配有详细的文字说明逾1600页。全面展现了梵蒂冈的艺术风貌，可谓文艺复兴艺术的全景百科全书。因出版年代较为久远，书脊略有残破，品相总体一般。
