|兴慈（1881-1950），俗姓陈，法名悟云，字兴慈，别号观月、瞻风子，俗姓陈，新昌县桂溪乡（今属镜岭镇）西坑村人。其家世业儒奉佛，全家八人，计三个叔父、祖父、母亲、姐姐、父亲和兴慈法师先后在不同寺庙剃度出家，在中国佛教史上也属罕见。兴慈幼年随父住下方广寺，14岁以父为师剃度出家，长大后，依国清寺从镜和尚受具足戒，继承法脉。先后在中方广寺、太平庵、苏州隆庆寺等处听《楞严经》、《法华经》、《弥陀疏钞》经等，立志研究经教，无间寒暑，昼继以夜，研读经典，27岁起登座讲经，先后在高明寺、药师庵及苏州等地开讲《金刚经》、《地藏经》、《法华经》等，广受欢迎。
