Description

千手观音又称千手千眼观世音、千眼千臂观世音等，是我国民间信仰的四大菩萨之一。据佛教典籍记载，千手观音菩萨的千手表示遍护众生，千眼则表示遍观世间。此尊头戴卷草枝蔓组成的花冠，中置化佛。面庞方正，五官端庄，容貌安详。上身佩戴网状璎珞，帔帛自两肩绕臂而下。中间上方两手合十，下方两手捧净瓶，其余各臂向外伸展，手中持有各种法器。下身着长裙，站立于台座之上。整像不论是人物造型，还是艺术特色，都是汉地传统佛教艺术的表现手法，尤其是千手做工复杂，保存不易，能无任何残缺，殊为难得。
