Three Hanging Scrolls with Calligraphy and Chinese Passport dated 1894, 1) Chinese Imperial passport with border of five dragons in red. Issued from the Bureau of International Affairs of the Qing government for the "German railway instructor Qu Situ" in the tenth month of the year 20 of the Guangxu period (1894). Ink and red color on paper, 55 x 64 cm. 2) Hanging scroll with verse in running script on yellow paper with border with bats and clouds, 195,5 x 36 cm. With dedication: "Dedicated to Mister Qu Situ". One scroll of a pair, the second is missing. 3) Two hanging scrolls with calligraphy in regular script, woven in silk. The black ground is woven, the white characters are spared, each 163 x 34,8 cm. Part of a larger composition, the scrolls with the beginning and the end of the text are missing - Former property from an old Austrian private collection - Partly with minor damages due to age
