黃玉玉料，顏色略深，溫雅潤澤。本器以淺浮雕琢技法在中間琢刻一麒麟，頭上長角，雙眼圓睜，張口，身飾麟紋，造型生動，周圍以八寶紋圍繞。本件玉牌構圖華麗，雕工精細，工藝繁複，透過大面積減地技法，加強紋飾立體效果，相當耗時。 「八寶紋」又稱「八吉祥」、「吉祥八寶」、「藏八仙」等，由八種寶物構成，分別是盤腸、蓮花、寶傘、海螺、金輪、華蓋、寶罐、金魚，簡稱為輪、螺、傘、蓋、花、罐、魚、腸。原是流傳於藏傳佛教地區的八種寶物圖案，受到藏族推崇。元代時已傳入內地，清代時期藏傳佛教深受宮廷推崇，類此紋飾開始大量運用在瓷器、玉雕等藝術品上，寓意吉祥
