铭文：云池烟聿，荡漾秀出。一轮当空，海？浴日。王稺登题。 |说明：砚为端溪佳石所制，随形，正面雕海天旭日纹，以旭日为圆形砚堂，环以细刻海水纹，线条流畅精致。砚堂石色青紫，纯净无瑕，微有青花点点，为端砚中上佳石材。配红木砚盒。|铭者简介：王穉登（1535～1612），江苏苏州人。十岁能诗，名满吴会。万历十四年曾与汪道昆、王世贞、屠隆等在杭州共举“南屏社”。吴中自文征明后，风雅无定属，穉登尝及征明门，遥接其风，主词翰之席三十余年。为同时期布衣诗人之佼佼者。万历二十二年被召参与修史。
