这对高山石瑞兽钮章，以满朱砂高山石刻就。体量虽然玲珑，但材质色调古雅、稳重，丹砂颗粒细密，融入石身而非呈现寻常材质的上浮感，带来了一种色调上的优雅、从容之感。两只瑞兽均继承清代古兽形制，前肢行刀有力，以块面与线条感呈现一种“足踏于地”的动感趋势，后肢之刻画，亦对此力量感有所呼应。虽是小件，但无论骨力姿态，都属上上，气魄决不亚于大章。两兽雕刻时其实侧重亦有不同，可说形同而神异，仔细对比之下，更觉趣味非常。潘氏之作多强调威武、雄壮之魄力，少有此类活泼之作，确为案头之恩物。
