雷神，俗称雷公，是古代中国神话中主管打雷的神。在中国人的理念中，雷神是惩罚罪恶之神，人如果做了坏事或违背誓言，就有可能遭五雷轰顶死去。此尊戴中国传统方帽，面庞方正，浓眉紧蹙，双目睁视，表情肃穆。上身着武将铠甲，左手持圆环，右手握雷锤，是雷神的典型特征。披帛自然垂搭于体侧，双脚蹬战靴，站立于山岩台座之上。整像铸胎厚重，做工精细，人物刻画生动自然，艺术表现带有明代中晚期汉地佛教造像的典型特征，更兼宗教寓意吉祥，实乃收藏供奉的绝佳选择。
