碧霞元君相传能够"庇佑众生，灵应九州岛"、"统摄岳府神兵，照察人间善恶"，因此成为道教中的重要女神之一。同时，此位女神也被认为是十分灵验的“送子娘娘”，在汉地民间有着极为广泛的信仰，香火十分旺盛。此尊头挽贵妇发髻，面庞方圆饱满，眉眼端正平直，鼻梁挺立，嘴含微笑，仿如送子救难的神君再现世间。上身内着圆领袖衣，外披厚重霞帔，衣纹曲折婉转，顺垂而下，双手捧有笏板。腰间绶带自然垂于双腿之间，下身着长裙，穿有高履，以倚坐姿态坐于台座之上。整像选材精良，光泽润泽，雕刻细致，做工精湛，展现了明代内地道教造像精细写实的艺术特征，是一尊非常珍贵的道教雕塑精品。
