战国红玛瑙是指近年开采于辽宁朝阳北票、河北张家口宣化等地，在宝石学上被定义为红缟玛瑙的一种，其与战国时期出土文物的一些玛瑙饰物同料，而此料先秦时期被称为赤玉，因此把此种玛瑙称为战国红。此香盒即是以战国红玛瑙为材，颜色黄艳纯正，玉质感强。盒盖以宝珠为钮，饰以博古纹饰，盖与盒身以子母口相连，贴合紧密。盒身束腰，底承三足。整器颜色鲜艳，器型秀美，纹饰古朴，为文房妙品。李力斌：北京玉雕名家
