A Famille Rose Boys Playing Ink Box, Qianlong Mark Of square form with canted corners, the shallow straight sides raised on four shallow bracket feet, the cover painted with a scenery of five boys playing on grass ground and a banana leaf tree standing on back. Four sides decorated a band of florette scrolls. 2 9/16 in. (6.5 cm.) wide Provenance: From the descendent of a noted British missionary Scott Charles Wilfred, Scott Charles Wilfred was born in 1880. After graduated from the Cambridge, he started the missionary life in North China during the period from 1909 to 1920, building his own collection in China including Chinese painting, ceramics, jade and metal artworks. Condition: Overall good condition commensurate with age, with usual traces of wear. Cracks to the base.
