|虎号称百兽之君，早在新石器时代即开始被人神化。仰韶文化出土时即发现用蚌堆砌的龙、虎造型，说明虎和龙皆为古人崇拜的神兽。此件质白，莹润凝脂，光华隐隐，局部褐色斑纹沁。虎呈俯卧状，以阴线刻划五官，神情温顺。双耳后贴，四肢俯卧于腹下，前肢交迭于额下，长尾翻卷至腹侧，灵动可爱。背部有线刻纹样，刀工利落。工匠因材施艺，藉玉材天然色泽纹理，巧作为虎身之斑纹，手法写实，形象生动。亦将虎的样貌与姿态巧妙再现，实为难得精美佳器。
