此玉牌采用和阗白玉雕就，质地细腻温润，局部带黄褐色沁。牌体呈椭圆形，牌额顺势雕刻双龙纹，牌面圆形开光，正面雕仕女抚琴图，湖石伫立，芭蕉掩映，庭院幽静。仕女端坐石桌前，发髻高盘，其身姿窈窕柔美，头部微侧，双手抚于琴弦之上，手势曼妙，刻画生动传神，准确的表达了“此时无声胜有声”之境界。背面竖刻行书诗文：“巫山夜雨弦中起，湘水晴波指下生”，署“丙子秋日”及“子冈”款。整件玉牌形制规矩，雕工娴熟流畅，极具诗情画意，精巧雅致，实为精品。
