此横笛为福建德化窑制品，通体光素，胎釉浑然一体，如同白玉。德化窑为中国陶瓷艺术史上为数不多烧造年代早,且留存历史时间长的古窑之一。明代，其烧造白瓷已经冠绝一时，被赞为“象牙白”、“奶白”或“天鹅绒白”。
然而，德化窑以白瓷雕塑神佛像著称，亦见有文房、实用器等，乐器之属，尤为稀见，伦敦佳士得2005年7月12日所售，“17世纪·德化窑白釉横笛”相仿，成交价USD 54,912，可兹赏鉴，编号0086.
