Lanino (Lanini), Bernardino - attributed to Mary with the infant Jesus and the young John (Mortara c. 1512-ca. 1581/83 Vercelli) Half-length figure of the Virgin Mary with the sleeping infant Jesus on her lap, from lower right the boy John shows the lamb, left around background a window view of a hilly river landscape. Oil on canvas. 69 x 55 cm. - Lanino was a pupil of Gaudenzio Ferrari, the most important painter in Vercelli.
