乾隆丙年制
盘内口沿周饰朵云纹，盘中书写青花“寿”字，盘外沿圆框内书写“山高水长”四字，四字间隔番莲花，沿足部外沿饰半回字纹。底部青花双圈，内书“乾隆丙午”四字款。周身施釉观之如玉，触之如冰；青花发色艳丽而不张扬，胎体细腻如玉，所施护胎釉淡薄而均匀。 据考证，圆明园的西南有一处空旷之地，俗称“西园”或“西苑”，乾隆皇帝亲赐名曰“山高水长”。山高水长楼西面的开阔地带，是供皇家子弟和卫戍部队习练武艺的大操场。乾隆帝晚年穷奢极欲，“乾隆丙午”为1786年，这件“山高水长”青花盘是为庆祝乾隆帝75岁生日而专门定烧。
