精铜铸造，瑞狮蹲坐，侧首平视，双耳垂搭，深眉蹙目，凸目圆睁，如意形隆鼻，方唇开口露利齿，鬃髯卷曲，盘旋如螺髻，尾巴粗大，呈火焰状上翘。左爪扶按绣球，取狮子绣球之意。
狮子自古以来是雕塑器物中常见的使用题材，传说释迦佛出生时，一手指天，一手指地，作狮子之吼云：“天上天下，唯我独尊”。又说”释家以狮子勇敢精进，为文殊菩萨骑者”，认为它是高贵尊严的”灵兽”，有护法辟邪的作用等等。所以狮子被认为是一种威严吉祥的动物。
