油滴盞主要為宋代建窯燒造的帶油滴狀斑點的黑釉茶盞，盞釉面上分布許多銀灰色大小不一的有金屬光澤的圓點，又似天幕中的繁星點點，後代稱之為油滴。 宋人好鬥茶，建盞倍受文人雅士的推崇, 兔毫、油滴盞均是品茗所用的上等茶具。此盞口大足小呈斗苙型, 造型撇口，斜直腹，線條優美。淺圈足，胎骨厚硬堅實。罩施黑釉，釉色如漆,色澤深沉悠遠，盞壁外刷釉至下腹不及底，足部露胎，胎骨質堅。盞內外可見大大小小呈圓形的斑點，似油滴狀，又似天幕中的繁星點點。因高溫燒造時，釉層熔融垂流，致使外壁近足處垂積的釉呈滴珠狀，故名曰“油滴盞”。
