此件玳瑁盏敞口，斜直璧，圈足。釉面为黑、黄釉交织混合成大小不一的斑点，似海龟“玳瑁”甲壳的色调，称之为“玳瑁”这种釉色，玳瑁釉是在黑色釉面上洒以不规则的黄褐色斑块，在烧制过程中，由于釉层的龟裂、流动、填缝，便在黑色中形成玳瑁状的斑纹，故称玳瑁釉。其色彩瑰丽，色调润泽。此盏无论从造型或釉色上看，均为一件不可多得之物。
