Description

【题识】乙丑冬月望前五日，茫父姚华。 【钤印】莲花盦、芒父、姚华私印 【释文】持其志勿暴其气，敏于事而慎于言。 【按语】姚华在民国初年，和陈师曾并称“姚陈”，是北京画坛的领袖。也与陈寅生、张樾丞一同被后世誉为“近代刻铜三大家”。严修、梁启超、梅兰芳、程砚秋等人都与他交好并对其才华赞赏有加。姚华篆书多法秦刻，以《琅琊刻石》、《峄山刻石》为宗，参以钟鼎、量权、印玺与汉碑碑额笔意，严整中见古朴。此对联的书写，转折绵密，疏密相间，雍容大度。劲健圆匀，如株金契石。他的书法作品早在20世纪90年代就已占有一定的市场份额，近年更彰显出较大升值潜力。
