Under the chariot of Phebus (the sun), women represent allegorical figures, notably reason and hope, a man crowned with laurel and dressed in the ancient style or Virtue whips a satyr symbol of vice. The panel on the right represents Night, with the Goddess of Darkness on a carriage drawn by bats, above allegorical figures of dangers to be avoided.
